We have been speaking too much about what to do to protect skin. Let’s talk about what not to do.
In order to stay beautiful and keep your skin safe from allergies and other issues, you have to be careful when you purchase cosmetics. They may look safe and reliable but they may contain a few ingredients that may damage your skin beyond repair. Let’s take a look at such ingredients so that you stay away from them:
- Parabens: Parabens are used in many cosmetics because they are preservatives. They increase the shelf life of cosmetics by preventing the growth of bacteria. However, they have been found to be associated with the onset of breast cancer, quicker aging, and DNA damage.
- Phthalates: These are solvents and are used while making cosmetics to allow easier dissolving. However, these ingredients may also cause reproductive issues and toxicity in the body.
- Mineral oil: Commonly called petroleum, this moisturizing agent should be avoided because it is not good for the environment and may also contribute to lung problems.
