Suicide Squad is going to release next year and this will be the first time Harley Quinn, the DC Comics anti-hero, will be seen online. Margot Robbie is going to play the jester character.
However, if the cinematic universe of DC Comics had chosen another path, she could have made her debut on the big screen much earlier than this. Of course, we are talking about a sequel to Batman & Robin, which was released in 1997. Batman Unchained would have had heroes fight against Harley Quinn and the actresses who were taken into account for this role included Courtney Love. Sadly, there was backlash against the 1997 movie and that is why they had to scrap the follow up movie.
“I think [Love] had heard about the possibility of Harley Quinn being in the newBatman and was thinking she would be good for it,” he said. “But we didn’t really talk about that. We talked about a lot of other things. It was certainly one of the better lunches I’ve ever had in my career in show business.”
The character has been among the most popular characters in comics, especially among female characters.
