There are two main types of fats that you should completely stay away from: trans fats and saturated fats. Saturated fats are those, which are solid at normal temperature. Trans fats have become very rare because FMCG companies are completely avoiding them. Fats that you should completely avoid are present in fried foods. That is the reason why you should keep away from them.

The fats that are healthy for the body are those, which come from plants. These include olive oil and canola oil. All these fats come with plenty of health benefits and the plant-based oils also contain many other helpful contents such as beta carotene and other antioxidants. Oils extracts from nuts and seeds are also very beneficial.

Therefore, it is advisable that you choose your fats wisely instead of freaking out about any and all types of fats. Some fats are extremely beneficial and incorporating them in your diet will help your fitness. Be careful the next time you buy oil!
