How to get rid of your love handles quick

Love handles look unsightly. Wonder who came up with such an endearing name for this ugly thing. Excess fat sitting pretty on the sides of your torso limit your wardrobe choices and make you feel conscious of your body.

Here are a few fool proof exercises to get rid of your muffin tops:

  • Place your right foot flat on the floor, in front of you as you kneel on your left knee. Tighten your abdomen muscles, straighten your back, and tuck in your tail bone. Hold a dumbbell in your right hand with your arm extended and bent at 90 degrees with your fist in the air. Then, extend your arm straight up into the air while bending your body down to the left till your fingers touch the ground. Engage your oblique muscles to pull your torso to the starting position and repeat on the other side. Do 20- 30 reps of this exercise.
  • Do the side plank crunch. Start by getting into the plank position. Slowly shift your weight on your right elbow and right foot and go into a side plank position. Next, tighten your core and pull in the right knee towards the chest and crunch your left elbow toward it. Repeat on the other side. Do 10-15 reps of this one.
  • Stand with your feet shoulder width apart, toes turned out slightly, and tailbone tucked in. Have a light weight dumbbell in your hand as you extend your arms up straight above your head as far as you can. Stretch and bend from the hips towards your right as far as you can. Twist your body back to face the front and pull back up to the starting position. Repeat on the other side. Attempt at least 20 reps of this.
  • Lie flat on the ground. Pull in your abs tight. Raise your chest up, lifting your shoulder blades into the air and pull your right knee into your chest and holding a sphere in your left hand. Pass the sphere from under your knee into your right hand and crunch forming an ‘8’. Repeat on with your other knee and remember to rotate your legs after each pass. Do this for 60 seconds.
