Smoked meat makes for a perfect summer time meal. Grilled meat somehow tastes oh so delicious with smokey goodness. Unfortunately though, most of us don’t have a smoker lying around in our homes. If you don’t have it too, don’t worry a bit. We’ve found out a way to smoke your food without a smoker and we are letting out our secret.

Here’s how you do it:

Step 1: Pick the wood chips of your desired flavour. You can choose from cherry, alder, and hickory to apple and mesquite.

Step 2: Soak the chips in water for at least 30 minutes while you prepare to grill the meat.

Step 3: Throw the chips in a drainer to drain out the excess water and then place the chips directly on the hot coals on your grill. Your chips should begin to smoke in a while.

Step 4: Place the cooking grate over the coals (leaving a small gap) and leave the chips to smoke for a good 10 minutes.

Step 5: Now place your precooked meat over the grate, cover partially and let it smoke for 20-25 minutes. Done!

There you go! Have your smoked briskets and ribs without ever missing a smoker. Happy cooking.
